With the release of a video capturing the horrific murder of Laquan McDonald by Chicago Police Department Officer Jason Van Dyke, Asian Americans Advancing Justice | Chicago reinforces our solidarity with Black-led community organizations who have taken the lead in this movement to end police violence in our city, while also lifting up our condolences and support to the family of Laquan.

Automatic Voter Registration in Illinois

Our state needs be doing all it can to get people to the polls. In 2014, less than 35 percent of eligible voters showed up to the polls for the gubernatorial election. More than 2.1 million citizens in Illinois were not even registered to vote.
