NO DEAL: Senator McConnell and the President Should Reopen the Government Immediately
President Trump in December agreed to “own” the ongoing government shutdown. Today, he proposes to end the crisis of his own making by offering temporary protection from deportation for DACA and TPS recipients, two other crises of his own making, in exchange for $5.7 billion for his Wall and reduced protections for asylum seekers.. His proposal today is unacceptable. We call on members of the House and Senate to reject this offer, and for Senator McConnell and the President to reopen the government immediately.
