Advancing Justice | Chicago is leading the initiative to pass the Teaching Equitable Asian American Community History (TEAACH) Act. Together with our partner organizations, we are building support for the bill across the state to ensure that Illinois students, including 100,000 Asian American K-12 students, learn a more complete picture of our country’s history that includes the many legacies and contributions of Asian Americans.

Advancing Justice | Chicago is an affiliate of Asian Americans Advancing Justice. Together with Advancing Justice | AAJC (Washington, D.C.), Advancing Justice Atlanta, Advancing Justice | Asian Law Caucus (San Francisco), and Advancing Justice | Los Angeles, we are a powerful voice for Asian American and immigrant communities nationwide.

As a member of the Pan-Asian Voter Empowerment (PAVE) Coalition, we organize with Asian community serving organizations in Chicago and the suburbs to empower our communities to take action. Together with PAVE, we organize the annual Asian American Action Day in Springfield, the Asian American Legislative Caucus in the Illinois General Assembly, and Mayoral Candidate Forums during Chicago city election season.

As a member of the Illinois Coalition for Immigrant and Refugee Rights (ICIRR), we join a powerful coalition of community-based organizations from across the state to win campaigns to help our communities. Together with ICIRR and PASO (West Suburban Action Project), Advancing Justice | Chicago co-convened the Campaign for a Welcoming Illinois to pass the Illinois TRUST Act.

Just Democracy is a broad-based and diverse coalition that works to protect and promote the value of a single vote, no matter the geographic, racial, ethnic or party affiliation of the voter. Together with partners across Illinois, we have successfully advocated for the passage of Automatic Voter Registration, Election Day Registration, and Online Voter Registration in Illinois.
